Uber's current Morocco directory lists Rabat and Tangier even though its launch announcement confirms Casablanca and Marrakech and later reporting adds Agadir. This inconsistency makes the live pickup screen decisive. inDrive reaches farther because it is a different bargain

inDrive is useful in cities Uber does not document, especially Fez, and lets rider and driver agree a price. Compare the offer, rating, vehicle and pickup distance together. Keep the fare in the app and reject a later request to cancel or pay a different amount.9

British travel advice warns that app-booked vehicles in Morocco may be unlicensed and that passengers can be told to leave during police checks. This warning matters most when the offer comes from a private car rather than a licensed taxi or licensed passenger vehicle. If that risk is unacceptable, use Uber where available or a hotel-arranged licensed car.1

Careem and Bolt are backups, not national answers

Careem still publishes Moroccan ride terms and can be a spare in larger cities, but recent users describe no-shows and requests to cancel. Confirm the driver is moving and never continue privately after a cancellation.4 10

Bolt's current directory supports a Marrakech recommendation, not a Morocco-wide one. Don't infer Casablanca, Rabat, Tangier, Agadir or Fez from a global download page. Install it only when Marrakech is on the itinerary.5

A legal booking can still be a bad place to meet

Taxi ranks, railway stations and terminal curbs can be contested pickup territory. Follow the meeting point in the app and, when practical, walk to a calm, well-lit public street away from the rank. Do not get into an unsolicited vehicle that claims to be your booking.

Match the driver, plate and vehicle before boarding, then share the active trip. If police stop an unlicensed car or the driver asks you to leave, move to a public place and end the booking in the app. Keep accommodation details beyond the destination private.

Cash solves a failed card, not a changed agreement

A saved card may work in Uber. inDrive says its payment options are cash, card or wallet and that they vary by location, so check what your pickup actually offers before you request. Carry dirhams in useful notes either way. Cash is the fallback for a declared cash ride, not permission to pay a digital booking twice.8

For a late airport arrival, an early flight or a pickup where being stranded feels unsafe, book a licensed hotel or airport transfer. The higher price buys a named meeting point and an accountable operator. Compare that certainty with the live app only after you have data and are at the correct terminal.
